In a large bowl, combine the broccoli florets, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes.
In a separate small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, and lemon zest.
Pour the lemon-olive oil mixture over the broccoli, and season with salt and pepper. Toss everything together until the broccoli is evenly coated.
Spread the broccoli mixture in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the broccoli is tender and slightly crispy on the edges, tossing halfway through the cooking time.
If using, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the broccoli during the last 5 minutes of roasting for a cheesy finish.
Once done, remove from the oven and transfer to a serving dish.
Garnish with chopped fresh parsley for an extra burst of color and flavor, and serve immediately.
Notes
