If using frozen edamame, cook according to package instructions until tender. If using fresh edamame, boil in salted water for about 5 minutes until tender, then drain.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds to release their flavor.
Add the boiled edamame to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic oil.
Pour in the soy sauce, honey, and lime juice. Stir well to combine everything, allowing the edamame to soak up the flavors.
Cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally until everything is heated through.
Season with salt to taste, then remove from heat.
Garnish with freshly chopped cilantro before serving.
