Ingredients
2
cans
sliced peaches in syrup (or fresh peaches, peeled and sliced)
1
cup
granulated sugar
1
teaspoon
vanilla extract
1
teaspoon
cinnamon
1
box
yellow cake mix
1
cup
unsalted butter, melted
1
cup
chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
1
teaspoon
nutmeg
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the sliced peaches, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Toss until well coated and set aside.
Pour the peach mixture evenly into the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the peach layer, covering it completely. Do not stir.
Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the top of the cake mix. If you’re using nuts, sprinkle them over the butter layer.
Finish by sprinkling the nutmeg over everything for an added layer of flavor.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-55 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
Let the dump cake cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top and a sprig of mint for an elegant touch.
