In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef or lamb, breadcrumbs, crumbled feta, parsley, red onion, garlic, egg, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.
Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1-inch in diameter. You should have approximately 15-20 meatballs.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, arrange the meatballs in a single layer and cook for about 5 minutes, turning occasionally until browned on all sides.
Once the meatballs are browned, pour in the diced tomatoes with their juice. Stir gently to coat the meatballs and bring the mixture to a simmer.
Cover the skillet and reduce the heat to low. Let the meatballs cook in the sauce for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until fully cooked through.
Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if necessary.
Serve the meatballs hot, garnished with additional crumbled feta and fresh parsley.
Notes
Serve with crusty bread or over rice for a complete meal.
